Akshay Kale is an Indian Hispanist specializing in Hispanic Literatures with an emphasis on poetry. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Spanish Language and Hispanic Literatures and Assistant Dean (Academic Affairs) at the Jindal School of Languages & Literature (JSLL), O.P. Jindal Global University. His original Spanish language poems have been published in journals such as El Cobaya and La Puerta del Carmen.

He has presented his research on Central American poetry at international congresses. As a literary translator, he has translated from Spanish into Marathi an anthology of Pablo Neruda’s poems titled उद्देशिका गोष्टींसाठी (Ode to Things). He helmed the Marathi translation for Escucho tu Silencio, a multilingual translated anthology of the Spanish poet Ángel González brought out by Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi.
