WHERE ARE THE PUZZLES?
Puzzle sheets are placed outdoors across the NCPA campus from 23 to 25 October. A new set of 50 unique puzzles goes out every day, so come back each day for fresh cases.
HOW TO SOLVE A CASE:
Every case has 4 suspects (A to D), 4 weapons (1 to 4) and 4 rooms (i to iv). Each suspect had a different weapon and was in a different room. Your job is to find who did it, with what and where.
USE THE GRID:
The grid on your sheet has a box for every pairing: suspect and weapon, suspect and room, weapon and room.
✓ = a clue confirms it
✗ = a clue rules it out
When you tick a box, put a cross in every other box in that row and column. One suspect can only have one weapon and be in one room.
STEPS:
1. Find the body: One clue tells you which room it's in. Whoever was in that room is the killer.
2. Read every clue closely: Some clues name a suspect. Others only describe an object that one of the suspects may be carrying, like a tripod most probably belongs to the vlogger.
3. Mark the grid as you go: ticks for what you know, crosses for what's ruled out.
4. Use clues with two options: Some clues give you two possibilities. If one is already crossed out on your grid, the other one is the answer.
5. Fill the gaps: If a row has only one empty box left, that's your tick.
6. Find the killer's weapon: If a weapon was found in a room, the person in that room had it. (QR CODE FOR A SOLVED MYSTERY)
