Irwin Allan Sealy, this year’s recipient of the Godrej Literature Live! Lifetime Achievement Award at the Mumbai LitFest, is the ever-seeking troubadour of our times, who channels his experiences into prize-winning books. In this session, he shares stories of his body of work. Ranging from travel-philosophy in ‘Trotter-Nama’, ‘The Everest Hotel’, and ‘From Yukon to Yucatan’, to the historical complexity of ‘Zelaldinus’ and ‘Asoca’ - all have provided new language and literary insights. Now in his latest book, ‘The Flying Yoginis’, he journeys to distant lands in search of various representations of the images of the compelling mystical women found on ancient Indian monuments, blending history, art, feminism and his inimitable craft of story-telling. He is in conversation with Literature Live! Award-winning novelist Smriti Ravindra.
