Sushma’s husband, Shri, was an obsessive mountain climber. In May 2023, he summited Mount Everest, but did not return. The trauma of his death smote Sushma, an accomplished singer, with Muscle Tension Dysphonia, causing her to literally lose her voice.

Her ultimate journey back from grief led to her writing poems, mainly in Tamil, and the composition of 5 new songs issued under the performance title.

This unique show will feature Sushma performing some of these songs and poems. She will be joined by Matt Bacon on the guitar and Sumesh Narayanan on the mridangam.
