Ratna Pathak Shah talks to author Jerry Pinto about ‘Yuri And The City’, the sequel to ‘The Education of Yuri’ which introduced the protagonist as a teenager. ‘Yuri and the City’ is set against the chaos of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992, tracing the outlines of India in the years that follow, while a now adult Yuri finds himself the adoptive father of two Muslim children. Soaring above the city but delving into the intimacies of family and friendship, the novel is illuminated with Pinto's trademark grace notes of humour and wisdom.
