What is most compelling about contemporary Indian fiction? Join the Director of the Deodar Prize in a lively conversation with the prize’s three jury members as they discuss the evolving landscape of Indian storytelling. The session will examine the place of short fiction in literature and how emerging Indian writers are experimenting with multiple forms of the genre. Additionally, how are writers using fiction to express or process collective emotions? What common themes are occurring in stories across India? And how might Indian writing do better? The panel will also discuss the ecosystem available for debut and aspiring writers in India, and ways through which they can develop their craft.
