Language is a Queer Thing brings to the audience an immersive ensemble spoken-word and sonic performance by queer artists from across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the UK.
Bringing together poetry, language and sound, the performance explores all things “queer” under the sky: mother tongues, towers in big cities, protest songs, cab rides, and the wondrous ways in which we make meaning of our experiences and connect with each other.
Launched in 2022 by The Queer Muslim Project and Verve Poetry Festival, the programme has brought together 23 emerging artists, produced live showcases and ensemble performances, and supported new work presented at festivals across India and the UK.
