Korea, 1953. A young Indian officer, Capt. N, is stationed in the Demilitarised Zone as one of 6,000 men of the Custodian Force, India, tasked with guarding 23,000 North Korean and Chinese prisoners of war who have refused to go home. The world is watching. The armistice is fragile. And the camps are full of secrets that no history book quite captures.
‘Limits of Change’ is the theatre-and-art-installation project built around this forgotten chapter of Indo-Korean history as a work of historical fiction.
The session unfolds as a dialogue between ‘Limits of Change’ co-writer and curator Parvathi Nayar and producer Dr Rathi Jafer, interspersed with brief performances, storytelling, videos. and rare historical footage - resulting in a fascinating theatrical experience.
