Regretfully in agony
Do you regret staying with me?
Cause I have remorse that you didn't leave me,
To be honest, I want you to stay,
But I fear that you will regret it one day.
I see you defending me in front of others,
While I do nothing but offend everyone,
You delicately fix everything I break,
However, not sure how much you can handle.
Trying hard to be as good as you,
As I know you deserve better than me,
But my light isn't as bright as yours,
It burns like a candle, trying to stay alive.
Are you nice to me because you're kind?
Or because you pity me for my existence?
These doubts and thoughts ache me,
Sometimes I wish you could be free.
Every day I feel I can impress you today,
But the sun goes down with another disappointment,
I feel less like your child, more like an issue,
Wiping my tears and nose at night with a tissue.
Aim to make you happy and proud,
Only to feel like nothing but a fraud,
Wish you hadn't treated me with such a lovely touch.
Maybe then my failures won't hurt me as much,
