Shehan Karunatilaka has published two novels, a short story collection and five children's books, including The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, winner of the 2022 Booker Prize and Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew, winner of the 2012 Commonwealth Book Prize. His work has been translated into 36 languages. He has written features on sport, music and travel for The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Wisden,GQ, The Spectator, Conde Nast and National Geographic. He co-wrote the screenplay for 800, the biopic of cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, released in 2023. He lives with a wife, two children, five guitars and twenty-two unfinished stories.
