Iffat Nawaz is an author based in Pondicherry. She worked for over a decade in humanitarian and development projects in USA, Asia and Africa. Her novel Shurjo’s Clan, was shortlisted for Best First Book (Fiction) at Literature Live! The Mumbai Litfest in 2023. In 2016, she published a book commissioned by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, titled Untold Stories of Tanguar Haor - a collection of true accounts of a nature-dependent community that lives in a water basin. Her writing has appeared in the Huffington Post, Scroll, Cosmopolitan, Bloomsbury USA, Zubaan Books, Himal Southasian and The Indian Quarterly.
