The Love in his Eyes
Ekta Appur
Poetry
Just sitting on the couch,
staring into his eyes, sparked by the evening sun...
I wondered how love in his eyes would look if he craved one.
Maybe—
slow, long hugs that make him smile,
forehead kisses that give him butterflies,
holding hands just a little longer,
staring into each other’s eyes until they sigh.
Maybe the love he craves is more than this—
cuddling all day, naked in bed,
slow, lingering kisses until they’re breathless.
Maybe he craves even more—
falling asleep on my lap,
my fingers tangled in his hair.
Just by looking into his eyes,
I saw the kind of love he craves.
