INCLUSION

Asmita Patwardhan

Poetry

Imagine a house with secret doors,
That opens to an unknown, secret call.
There's no bell to ring or tug or pull,
Either they invite you in or they stall.
There are so many lights in the home,
Chandeliers, candles and lamps!!
But sometimes the house is unlit,
When darkness casts its stamp.
Sometimes you hear music streaming,
Sweetest, wondrous melodies.
Sometimes a quiet stillness lingers,
This house has its own rhythms and qualities.
Most people pass by this mansion,
Although it seems ordinary to the eye.
The ones that choose to come closer,
Are the ones who are willing to try.
It’s a house with its own ways of living,
With many layers to explore,
But if you give the house half a chance,
It will open unseen doors.
Give the house your understanding and care,
It’s not always about restoration!
With the power of a pause and patience,
This house will teach you about inclusion.
