Ramachandra Guha is a renowned historian. His landmark history of the Indian Republic, ‘India after Gandhi’ and his two-volume biography of Mahatma Gandhi: ‘Gandhi Before India’ and ‘Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World’ were published to wide national and international acclaim and ranked highly by leading publications in India, UK and USA. His other keen interests - in the environment and in cricket - have resulted in a pioneering environmental history, ‘The Unquiet Woods’ and an award-winning social history of cricket, ‘A Corner of a Foreign Field’. He holds an honorary doctorate from Yale University.
