Gagan Gill is the Poet Laureate for Godrej Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest 2026. She is a highly acclaimed Hindi poet with five collections of poetry, 4 books of essays and a much celebrated travelogue, ‘Awaak’ , about a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar. She was awarded one of India’s highest literary honours, the Sahitya Akademi Award, in 2024 for her latest book of poems ’Main Jab Tak Aayi Baahar’. A former journalist, she has been a visiting writer from India at the International Writing Program in Iowa, and a Nieman Fellow for journalism at Harvard University.
