Monika Bhatkhande loves writing adventure books for middle-graders, and has authored and illustrated ‘The Secret of the Star Sapphire,’ ‘In the Woof of Time’ (longlisted for TOI Auther Awards Season 5) and ‘At the Quack of Dawn’ (longlisted for Binod Kanoria Children’s Book Awards 2025). Her books are full of the mysteries of Mumbai, the city she grew up in. When she’s not reading, writing, sketching or talking aloud to made-up characters, she can be found debating over books, the miseries of toe-stubbing (she’s very clumsy) and other profound topics with children, who remain her staunchest allies and most honest critics.
