Nita started her career in hospitality and then moved to marketing, but education was always her first love. Before moving to the social sector, she was the Head of Junior School at Bombay International School. She is committed to ensuring that children grow up loving reading and writing. She is the Executive Director at Adhyayan Foundation, where she oversees the Read-Aloud program in Karnataka (pan-state), Goa (pan-state) and Maharashtra (in Kalyan-Dombivli). She has co-authored four manuals on read-aloud. She co-anchors Librarians of India, a collective that champions the cause of access to books for all children across the country.
