Yogesh Pawar is a journalist with over 30 years of experience and a post-graduate in Social Work from TISS. He currently heads Population First, a social impact organisation championing women’s empowerment, gender equality, and community mobilisation. A former marital and sexual counsellor, he has worked with The Indian Express, Rediff, Elle, NDTV and DNA, reporting on subjects from politics and crime to the arts and environment. His core focus remains hunger, poverty, caste, gender, sexuality, and the performing arts. His bylines feature in The Quint, Caravan, Article 14, Al Jazeera, and Hindustan Times. He has been teaching journalism since 2002.
