What happens when the worlds we have built—from our most intimate relationships to the broader society—begin to crumble? In their works thriller writer Helene Flood and novelist Cathy Sweeney have explored the insidious aftershocks of trauma, guilt, and buried resentments. In a forthright discussion the authors explore how their characters reflect larger anxieties about societal and personal collapse and how personal anguish and domestic pressures can create internal and external chaos.
