Your Shoes
12
Prose
They are your shoes, I could never step in them. You have yours I have mine.
We all have our own journey to make and each scar to mend and mind.
I could never understand what you're going through nor you could what's happening in mine.
Cause they are your shoes, I could never step in them. You have yours I have mine.
I could stand with you in misery, I could stand with you in pain, but I can never feel what you feel because they are your shoes, and not mine.
I am your friend and family and I may think I feel your pain as mine.
But your pain is yours to feel and mine is mine. Cause they are your shoes, I could never step in them. You have yours and I have mine.
Though I know all this my friend I am not leaving your side. I will stand by you through thick and thin not uttering a word or a line.
My back will be there for you to lean on and my shoulder always at your side.
For they are your shoes, not mine yet please keep me by your side.
