Poetry

Sometimes I wish I didn't have a heart,
No maelstrom of emotions
That keeps tearing me apart.
Deadlines would be met,
And people would call me smart,
For having a productivity curve
That is totally off the charts.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have this mind,
And all of my thoughts
were neatly aligned.
All to-do lists checked
No work left behind -
All concepts stacked
And easy to find

Sometimes I wish I could do it all.
Explore every city
Answer every call
In every court,
I'd roll the ball,
And when people talk,
I'd know it all.

But sometimes I wish
I could live it all again
Make the same mistakes
And worry in vain
Have my heart broken
Heal through the pain
Laugh when people
Call me a scatterbrain
Carve my peace out
Letting silences explain
As I listen to the lullabies
Rushing in my veins

Sometimes I wish
I could live it all again
Bottle every memory
And paint them once again.
