The Chaos of Memories
57
Poetry
Her giggle is something I miss so much;
Her voice I yearn to hear.
She quietly walked away without saying a word;
She shed a tear there, and I cried here.
I was so connected to her; we both could reach each other’s mind.
Now I want to talk to you and long for your cuddles, but I don't know where to find.
But you always speak the language of love in every song I hear;
The music and lyrics bring a whirlpool of emotions, just as it was when you were here.
I really miss you, my Nanu—life has never been the same without you.
I miss our long chats, discussions, arguments, and the good times we had, although very few.
While you chose to stay grounded to support me, you gave me wings, and I flew.
Then suddenly, one day, you surrendered yourself to the universe, and I had no clue.
The pain and the agony I went through is something I can’t express.
I was sad, overwhelmed, refused to talk to anyone, and my mind was in a total mess.
While you were around, you resolved my issues; now whom should I address?
Though my family and loved ones tried to calm me, I was under a lot of stress.
Then one day, I felt your presence around me.
I could see only pink—the colour of love—while I was standing under a green tree.
I felt you knew I was lonely and gave me a sign,
And said: “Wherever you are, my child, you will always be fine.
Near or far, our love for each other was, is, and will remain till eternity—
Even if I have become one with the Divine.”
The chaos of memories kept playing like a movie on the screen.
I realised it had stopped; life continues, whether it is kind or mean.
I promise you that I will fulfil your dreams and aspiration;
You were, are, and will always continue to be my inspiration.
