The Ache Of Fading Moments
8
Poetry
Isn’t it one of life’s greatest ironies—
We only truly value the present
Once it slips into the past.
Why do we find ourselves
Longing for what we can no longer have,
While failing to cherish
The fleeting beauty of moments
As we live them?
Perhaps it is the nature of time—
A relentless teacher,
Whispering wisdom too late,
Leaving us to marvel at
What was,
And mourn the richness
We didn’t know we held.
