Shoes and shadows
A walk in the streets is all I need
To let the silence take the lead.
Serene, chirpy and enchanting always
Asking me to dive in her elusive gaze
In the veil of leaves her beauty hides
Or is it the safe place where she resides
No one but she knows herself
Compelling me to be honest with myself
In the arches of green my way thrives
Full of prets, those laughing wraiths of old,
It whispers of paths where stories unfold.
March ahead or wander here
Befuddled me won’t accept the fare
The courage for this lies within
I will walk miles for that slight grin
Smooth yet difficult the path seems
Or is it the melancholy which lies within
Obstacles or absence of path, I wonder sometimes
Us not spending time together is this one of those grave crimes?
I ask you oh dear what is it that you need?
Something attainable or is it beyond greed?
Why am I here? I ask myself
The answer is to gaze upon thyself
I look in the mirrors and wonder
What is keeping me from being kinder.
