Memory of Home

Poetry
When you try to remember how lunch at home was,
Can you recall the taste of food,
Or just the voices all around you
Then I guess you know it when it feels like home,
Sudden remembrance splashes you,
Lightning goes to your head and you see that the chapter repeats,
Although you forgot about it, it remembered you,
The feeling of home,
The constant thought that something is going to happen and you act like something is going to happen;
And that something does happen, as always,
You keep dismissing it, but the shame that empties you and guilt that fills you are your most familiar acquaintances---,
You have condemned them like fear,
But these come crashing down on you,
You know what thing is feeling like home,
Then you get up and leave...
