Prose

I love you, but could only write this in a letter,
One I could never give, hoping things might get better.
In dreams, we meet as if we are together,
But reality proves our paths can't weather.
So where do I find the courage, what must I do,
To give this letter, to be with you?
Remembering you, I write a little something each day,
Decorating these pages with what my heart wants to say.
My friends just see them as letters, but they're wrong,
For these are my unspoken words where my feelings belong.
Will you ever want to understand what I'm going through?
Will you also always want to be with me, too?
I am lost in these questions, feeling so much pain,
While you are waiting for someone else to come in the rain.
It is a good thing you are unaware of this love I can't express,
That's why you are smiling, filled with such happiness.
And it's a good thing you'll remain unaware,
Otherwise you'll keep writing unspoken words on these pages, just like me
