I Must Do My Days
10
Poetry
Today so much is far away-
The cliche is true: only memories stay!
The future would look like this, who knew?
Oh just take me back to the old times, to my old crew!
Let me hear their jokes, let me tell them mine
Let my soul reverberate with laughter, let me shine
But Life says, it is a new dawn!
I must do my days no matter if my people are gone.
In a blink, you could lose anything
But seldom it's your doing.
The cherished mug will get elbowed and be broken
Such is life, only this way it's all meant to happen.
To survive without my dearests, now that’s my test
To do right by my own life, I shall try my best.
I will do my days but only with the belief
That this parting isn’t the “forever” kind, it’s only brief.
