An Ode to Winter

Poetry
Ashy December breeze, wafts to and fro at the year end
This wistful air, wraps me around like a toasty blend
Charmed and fuzzy are the twinkles gleaming from people near and afar
My soul, is churning steady as the Christmas rum puddings in pitch dark
With my frazzled skin and my feeble frozen bones, I stand still to gaze upon grey chimney smokes—hovering throughout the starry skies
Somehow, each woollen knit whispers of all possibilities life offers at the very twists, turns, and ties
What could have been and what needed to be, I found myself on the eve of Christmas night
Evenings have become silent and shorter, noon’s creak in as mellow as my tea infused with heaven
At times I yearn, how much I long and long to be free in Bethlehem
Therefore alongside, I rise shoulder to shoulder with my Mother
And I do so happen to realise, that the glass window is all frosty and Merry December has arrived.
