Dear Life: I Choose You

Prose
Okay, let me get this off my mind.
I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'm not sure why it's been bothering me so much.
What does suicide really mean?
Can anyone truly answer that?
Let me try to look at it from every angle.
Sometimes, a child takes their own life just because their parents scolded them. Is that really such a big reason? These days, even parents are afraid to say anything to their children, fearing they might take such a drastic step.
Yes, there are times when people are dealing with deep personal issues—but even then, is suicide ever truly the answer?
It feels like suicide has become so common. Anyone, anytime, for anything can commit suicide...
But no—suicide is not a solution.
In life, you have to take risks and face your problems. Running away will never help you grow stronger.
Today, a girl in our class told us something shocking. A 10-year-old girl in her neighborhood committed suicide because her mother took away her phone. Just think about that.
A 10-year-old child...
No, my dear ones, this is not the age for such thoughts.
This is the time to face little challenges, to accept when your parents scold you. One day, when they’re no longer around, you’ll miss their voice deeply.
But right now, while they’re here, we often don’t realize their worth.
I'm not here to preach, but I do want to say this from the heart:
Please, don’t even think about suicide.
There is always someone who will listen. And if you feel like there’s no one, then write it all out in a diary. Let it out—but don’t give up.
You are stronger than you think.
You matter. And someone out there needs you—even if you don’t know it yet. 🧡
