Mesak Takhelmayum is an indigenous writer, activist, educator and creative artiste from the Imphal valley. He is a recipient of the Zubaan-Sasakawa grant for young researchers under which the theme of 'Queerness amidst Conflict' is explored. As a trauma response volunteer, they have worked for the psycho-social wellbeing of women, children, LGBTQIA+ and the internally displaced people of the Manipur conflict. He is a core member of The Chinky Homo Project - Digital Queer Anthology of Northeast India and is the Manipur Young Queer Leader 2024-2025 under Matai Society and SAATHI. His participation at the festival has been made possible by United States Consulate General Mumbai, IOWA International Writing Program and The Queer Muslim Project.
