Ankit Shiv

It will be a long time before
You pierce your core again
To hold a mush of clingy
Possible worlds you've been in
But never to return, as if
Forever to churn your soul, as if
Breathing was only an option
And never a natural decree

It will be a long time before
The harmony of the means
And those smolders within
Manifests a gift in you
As you bleed colours with it
And you cry arrangements with it
And nurture something which
You would otherwise look and flee

And it will be a long time before
Your fingers move by themselves
And play something you never heard
But you would know it as if
Born in its arms, you were
Cradled by its warmth, you were
Raised to bring it back in the
Form it feels free

It will be a long time before
You close your eyes and see
Something that calls for you
To be one with it and
Drunk in its magic, you
Bathe in its power, you
Turn it into something
That you never expected to see

It will be a long time before
This seeming permanence dies
And a flower blooms in your heart
Its nectar runs through you
And you dance to the flow within
Embracing thick and thin
Till you see the garden where
You forever want to be.
