What did us apart

Divya Khurana

Whenever I look at my art
Something deep down hurts in the heart
And makes me question “what did us apart”?
Because I did my part

Whenever I look at my art
It gives me cues of your hues
And makes me question “what did us apart”?
Because I did my part

Whenever I look at my art
It takes me in the rear views
And makes me question “what did us apart”?
Because I did my part

Whenever I look at my art
It transports me to school corridors, mean faces and ugly chatter
And makes me question “what did us apart”?
Because I did my part

Whenever I look at my art
It reconciles me with the fights that made me shatter
And forced me to ask you, “Do I even matter ?”
And makes me question “what did us apart”?
Because I did my part

Often during rains
While whisking cake batter
or listening to the quite storming sound of pitter-patter
Whenever I look at my art
Something deep down still hurts in the heart
Because even though I did my part,
It reminds me of what did us apart.
