The Day the Clouds Attacked

Sachit Kalra

It was a dark and stormy night, every cloud was in attendance. The mob of storm clouds charged forward, just to get a peek of Surge-ant Thunder and Lieutenant Lightning. They were the strictest clouds around. Cloud Control Freaks! Sky Tyrants! Their Raincloud Regiment was renowned for reducing clouds to mere teardrops.

“Attention! Storm at Ease! Attention! Storm at Ease! ACLOOUUDDDD TURN!” commanded Lieutenant Lightning.

“ALL OF YOU CASUAL-O-NIMBUS NOBODIES, RAINSHADOW RASCALS, TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!” exacted Surge-ant Thunder.

“MY DEAR COTTON CANDY COMRADES, I HAVE AWAITED THIS DAY SINCE I WAS JUST A SINGLE DROP SUSPENDED IN THIS VAST SKY! TONIGHT WE MAKE OUR MOVE THROUGH THE FOG OF WAR, OUR TEMPEST WILL NOT REST UNTIL WE DROWN THE GROUND!”

And just like that, the clouds stormed forth, on their mission that the weatherman predicted would be “just a light drizzle”.
