Stories in Silence
Shyamala Sathiaseelan
Stories would swirl within my mind,
Stories I longed to share,
Stories I shied away from telling—
Until silence became my voice,
Saying what words could never express.
When questions came, ones I didn't wish to answer,
I would smile, glance away,
And let silence speak for me,
Conveying more than words could ever reveal.
"How did they know?" they’d ask.
"Did you tell them?"
But I had uttered nothing at all—
It was silence that whispered the truth
When my voice remained still.
