STARRY NIGHT

STARRY NIGHT
Starry Night Blurry Eyes I still remember the day
Blurry eyes Starry Night casting dreamy sparkles on the lake.
On the edge of the bridge stood I with a dismal gaze -
Gaze On the dark deep waters with million diamonds
Yet the eyes were fixated on Moon’s reflection.
The dark depths of water were calling me
Yet the heart craved Moon’s gleam.
“It will just take a minute, don’t think too much” –
Enticed the evil voice through the murk.
“Just one step forward – one painless dive –
And all your woes shall subside.”
“Come my dear, rush into my warm embrace-
The forever bliss, an end to all your misery.”
Lured the darkness with all sincerity.
The charm of the dark – lucrative and promising.
Afar above watched the gentle Moon smiling.
For He knew, there resides a spark in heart
Flickering fighting – a yearning for life’s vast canvas.
I still remember the day – The day I was saved.
It was the Moon – my saviour, who stood there
Sans silky speech to seduce, neither tried to persuade.
Casting ivory glow, came He, a little closer,
Questions galore asked He, not wishing any answers.
And thus prodded, “Hello, how are you, my child?”
Aren’t the lake waters beautiful tonight?”
“You should go and try take a boat ride.”
“You know, the boatman is my close ally.”
In negation I nodded, reverted back to my quandary.
“Don’t ado more – Peace is just a plunge away.”
Again the gloom cajoled.
A tussle ensued inside,
A war within that was to decide
The fate of my weary soul.
To be or not to be – to dive or to leave!
Was it love for life or my cowardice?
I still remember the day
The day I didn’t dive
Instead chose to take a leap of faith
To try and take things in my stride.
Yet a few things, in those dark waters, I did obliterate.
Away I immersed all my garb of heavy weight
Liberated self from the burden of False Nobility.
Let go of my existence
From the weight of expectations.
And drowned the darkness in the dreary depths
Lighter -walked away from the parapet.
Spread the wings - tore away delusional chrysalis,
Unravelled the truth from the labyrinth of lies,
On new paths and novel odysseys
I rose riding under the moon light.
