Ree(a)lity

Mary Veronica Anthony

Ree(a)lity

We hide behind fictitious characters
Masking our feelings
Making a fool out of ourselves
Adding a touch of humor
A dance to entertain

Allowing strangers to laugh at our mental health
Showcasing our homes as if it were perfect
Crying silent tears inside
But holding the audience in awe

A few likes
A few clicks
A few shares
Life measured on algorithms
Crafting fake stories to hide the pain
Calling ourselves celebs

The reel far drawn from our miseries of ree(a)lity.
