Our Space in Time

Akshay Kripalani

They say true love is forever
Like the Lovers of Valdaro
In each other's hands in life
In death and tomorrow

Six millenia passed
Still their hands twined together
Bound by their sacred love
In soul and bone forever

They say true love isn't real
That the world is barren and cold
That warmth and affection is naught
But a myth made by the old

That time and tide wear all out
Till there's nothing left to erode
That our love is false
And only a load on our soul

But why worry about the then,
And the nature of time?
For if you would love me for a moment
The world would be mine
