My mind is like a cat

Minal

My mind is like a cat
Just the other day I was concentrating on my breath
It wandered off just like that
I tried disciplining it
But as I was trying to leash the nincompoop
That lousy creature bit
I stacked my thoughts neatly
Despite its wicked attempts to make a mess
I decided to bring order and control repeatedly
Looking at my unsuccess
I untied the knot and released the wild brat
Of the shelf it threw all the delicate thoughts
And I felt the pain as they broke like precious pots
But I kept my cool
Allowed it to act like a fool
I resisted no longer
And as the moment passed by
I felt I became stronger
The funny cat saw me being calm
Did everything to hurt my sentiments
But started losing when he could no longer harm
The cat was hungry not for food
But for attention
I left it alone
And that paved the way to self correction
Finally, it settled
The doors opened to realisation
And with love and equanimity entered
Happiness led its way to heart
And just like that we had a new start
