Friendship in Diversity
Minal
Dilip migrates from Pakistan to Israel in search of a job as a construction worker. He is in his 20s and has no experience in the field. In India, his occupation was making tea at a local restaurant.
He feels helpless when he doesn't understand the language of the locals. He finds it difficult to adjust and pick up the skills at his workplace. His purpose in migrating was to support his family back in India, who had no other means of money source.
One day, he is struggling with a hammer on a construction site when he meets Ashok. Ashok, In his late 40s, is also a construction worker. He has been working on the site for over 2 years. Ashok managed to cope with the language barrier. He learnt the basics with the help of other colleagues.
When he meets this young boy in his early 20s it reminds him of his nephew back in India.
Ashok didn't have his own family. His only family was a widow sister and his son who was studying. They were dependent on Ashok for their income source and moral support.
When he saw this young boy named Dilip struggling he decided to help him.
Soon, they became great friends, and Dilip started treating Ashok as his mentor.
After 3 years of friendship, Dilip picked up the language. Although he still could not speak fluently, it was manageable to fulfil his basic communication needs.
Ashok Happily retired and went back to India.
