Dilemma

Merlin Thomas

It's like we're all lost in a maze,
Our movements are dictated by our gaze,
As our age shift, so does our priority,
Our path follows that of the majority,
Our destination won't be same if we follow anyone,
The journey would be distinct for everyone,
Family is a blessing and a burden,
Our lives revolve around our loved ones, that's certain,
An empty house has a sense of peace,
Yet a lonely heart longs for a belonging breeze,
There is a cost to everything here,
If we desire a close-knit family or a career,
A heart feels burdened by some choices,
All we can do is trust our inner voices,
Everybody weeps in private so that no one know,
Every tiny bit of joy shouts in public like snow,
We can only do our best to relish the drives,
Whatever we do, we cannot control our lives,
We all are lions at home, lambs on the streets,
Our decisions are driven by our needs,
Everyone wants to win this game of life,
To show they are the best when others are in strife,
Those who live in the present are the happy ones,
Without seeking after gold, those who value bronze,
Believe you have the best,
It's useless to consider what's there with the rest,
The dilemma of life is as such,
Sweet or bitter, it's impossible to bear much.
