Come Back to Me
Ashu Verma Chaubey
Those beautiful days and nights sleepless
When stealing those glances, while sitting abreast
We’d spent some precious moments together
That used to give us the ultimate pleasure
Alas! now we don't even remember
Those sunrises bright and vibrant
And sunsets mesmerizingly resplendent
Our love pure and transcendent
Just me, Just you, No resentment
Now all replaced with sheer commitments
Burning with desire and profound emotions
Simultaneously warming cold fingers by the fireplace
Bursting with passion
Expressing love unspoken,
Of those smiling vivid eyes, now there isn't a trace
Crossing together those parched lands
Moving along hand in hand
Assured of conquering the unknown
Abandoning those sacred amicable bonds
In a jiffy, we’ve traversed eons
Of those silvery gleaming lands
And our vows of fondness and affinity
With those pleasant tranquil memories
We’ve broken all ties and leaving them behind
We've traveled far beyond
Involuntarily, detached and emotionless
Rendering our duties countless
Inundated by expectations endless
Sometimes it feels as if we've been ensnared
In our self woven, messy, cold silken webs
So engrossed are we in our own responsibilities
Chasing the unknown prospective
With altogether different set of perspectives
Even those memories seem to have been faded away
By the waves of these temporal allegiances
Our mind busy in analyzing
The 'pros and cons' and 'ifs and buts'
Our bodies set in motion
And our conduct and actions maneuvered
To deliver without exhibiting exasperation
But the heart knows not
How to forget those sentiments and emotions
And yearns to nestlé once again
In the sizzling warmth of your embrace
And reignite that smothered affection
Oh my Love!!
Though I know we're deeply lost
In our self regulated spheres of new associations
But I still pine to regain my love in you
My estranged but true companion
