Tell Me More- A modern child’s voice to the world

Abhaya Sadanand Moghe

Poetry

Tell me more about the sky, why it changes its moods so fast. One moment it's bright and cheerful, next, it's scrolling clouds past.

Tell me why the grown-ups say "don't grow up too quick," and then hand me schedules, screens, and plans fill my days up thick.

I hear things you don’t explain, like why people talk in code, saying "I’m ne" when they’re clearly not.

I notice when the news is on, the silence you try to hide. I catch the way you pause your breath when headlines scroll by wide.

Tell me why some kids get less, when others seem to over ow. I’m small, but I can see enough to know the world’s not fair. I build my own bright questions, like: why does kindness feel so rare?

And how come dogs know how to love without needing us to care? Tell me more about the rules who made them, and who bends them?

Why are "please" and "thank you" nice, but you forget to send them? I dream in WiFi waves and stars, speak emoji, code, and rhyme but still I chase the butterflies, and ask “what if?” all the time.

So don’t rush me to grow too fast, or pack away my wonder this sharp mind holds a so er heart, and questions make it thunder.
