About

Calling all children to Literature Live! The Little Festival - where books are a lot of fun!
The Little Festival…..where books are a lot of fun! has grown from a few sessions and school events into a full-fledged festival for children. Held online for two years, it returned on-ground in 2024 alongside Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest.
Open to children aged 8–13 from schools and NGOs, the festival is inclusive and citywide, offering stories, performances, and creative experiences. Past themes such as Characters from Around the World and There Are Stories Everywhere have brought together writers and performers from India, Scotland, the UK, and Australia. The Binod Kanoria Trust Awards for Children’s Literature are a festival highlight, hosted by young readers to honour outstanding authors and illustrators.
On 7–8 November 2025, in collaboration with the H T Parekh Foundation, The Little Festival will feature writers, storytellers, and performers including Suresh Eriyat, Anya Hannan, Cyrus Broacha, Shubhangi Swarup, Shalini Pradhan, Bijal Vachharajani, Bittu Sahgal, and Shabnam Minwalla. There will be workshops, a Roots and Shoots trail, tree walks, performances, and a Literary Zone for hands-on activities. This year, the festival places special focus on inclusion and accessibility, continuing to nurture the timeless love of stories for young readers.
