    A multifaceted personality, he has worked in advertising, theatre, cinema and TV. After completing his graduation, he worked for five years in the Press Trust of India-Reuters and then did a long stint of 25 years with Hindustan Lever and Lintas, the last 10 years as head of Lintas. He is a columnist and writer on civic/governance subjects and works on projects that serve Mumbai, notably as Convenor in Action for Good Governance and Networking for India (AGNI). He has received a Fellowship, University of Sao Paolo, Brazil for one year; and has also worked for 11 years with UNICEF in Latin America and New York. Besides many notable theatre performances, he has acted in films like Santosh Sivam’s Ashoka, Deepa Mehta’s Water, nominated for the Oscar in 2005, Amol Palekar’s And Once Again and Kranti Kanade’s Gandhi of the Month with Harvey Keitel. He has published his first collection of poems, So Far. He is Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merite of France.
